CONSTABLE POSITION & RECOMMENDATION COMMITTEE

The Windham Selectboard is seeking volunteers for two important community opportunities:
1. Town Constable Position
The Selectboard is accepting letters of interest, including qualifications, from individuals who would like to be considered for the position of Town Constable. A full description of duties, qualifications, and expectations is available on the town website.
This is a community-facing role requiring strong communication skills, a commitment to public service, and the ability to work respectfully and responsibly within the legal limits set by the Town and State. The Town Constable serves as a critical liaison between town government and the public, upholding municipal ordinances and assisting with public matters in a non-law enforcement capacity. Compensation will include an annual stipend and milage.
If you are interested in serving as Windham’s Constable, please submit a letter of interest to the Selectboard at windham.selectboardclerk@gmail.com no later than August 4th, 2025.
2. Constable Recommendation Committee
In addition, we are forming a short-term Constable Recommendation Committee to review the applicants for this position and recommend a primary candidate to the Selectboard.
